Join as we kick off the return of Friday Nights at the de Young. This special Fall season runs for nine Fridays from September 28–November 23. All Friday nights will feature reduced admission to the special exhibition Contemporary Muslim Fashions, and free admission to the main-level galleries & performances in Wesley Court.

The series kicks off with  Dholrhythms Dance Company on Sept 28th at 6pm. We’ll be sharing some of our favorite pieces from our “Colors of India” production plus interactive dance lesson and music. In addition poet and activist known for social projects like “Ask A Muslim” and the feminist anthem “Wrap My Hijab”  artist Mona Hadar will be sharing a ”a spoken world performance followed by Q & A.  Non Stop Bhangra’s own DJ Jimmy Love will be closing out the night with an open floor dj set for those wanting to get your bodies moving.

A selection of food and drink will be available from the museum cafe, including halal choices and creative non-alcoholic “mocktails.”

A beautiful evening that is perfect to share with family and friends.
